We obtain wood from local wood yards, from friendly carpenters, and we also collect and dry it ourselves. When selecting individual pieces, we are guided by knowledge and experience, and in the case of shape selection – by intuition. The more original the form, the better it is perceived by our customers. We are open to diversity, so one thing is certain – among our nests, no two are the same, which makes each of them unique.

Foranto nests are created from various types of wood. The closest to our heart are native varieties such as oak, ash, hornbeam, beech, robinia, walnut, apple, pear or cherry, but we also do not close ourselves to exotic species such as iroko, paduk, meranti, azobe, almond or olive wood, which also hold layers of beauty.

We protect the nests with natural linseed oil. We are concerned about environmental issues, so as a responsible craft manufacturer we do not want to contribute to environmental pollution. We operate according to the zero waste principle, so we transform every piece of wood left over from the production of large ant nests into a smaller sized product, even the smallest one.

Created with passion – Foranto Large nests for ants

The factor that undoubtedly drives us is our love for woodworking. We treat each piece with due respect, which translates into the quality of our nests. We've learned our life lessons and now know that only items made with passion have a chance to break through in the market. Our large wooden ant nests are the best example of this.

The uniqueness of the products we offer also consists of the hours spent in the workshop. Sometimes, in order to get a satisfactory result, we have to spend much more time that we could spend on other activities. Patience is a key piece of the puzzle here, because without it it is very easy to make a mistake that cannot always be corrected.

Large ant nests are very time-consuming, and require placement on a stable base and good attachment. The tunnels must be perfectly fine-tuned and the nest properly secured. The final product, which reaches the customer can boldly be called a kind of work of art, as it can easily replace a sculpture, becoming a decoration of the living room. Our nests are also an ideal gift idea for a loved one whose sense of aesthetics is at a very high level.

Inspired by nature

Nature – it is she who plays the first role in Foranto. We are extremely grateful to her for the inspiration, the teaching of values and the opportunity to use the resources at her disposal. Walking past an anthill in a forest, few people realize that what we see on the surface is only part of a larger whole. By choosing to purchase our nests, you can closely follow the life of ants without destroying anthills found in nature.

We are against all forms of vandalism, which also applies to the natural environment. The animal world can be explored in many ways without interfering with natural habitats. By breeding ants responsibly at home, we are able to provide them with conditions close to natural ones, and large nests additionally allow larger species such as Camponotus ligniperda, Camponotus herculeanus, Camponotus barbaricus, Tetraponera rufonigra to settle in them.

Wooden ant nests in XL size are also a nod to enthusiasts of non-obvious forms, because working on a large piece of wood, we can adjust many elements to the customer's expectations.
