Camponotus Cruentatus Ants

95,00 129,00

Camponotus cruentatus is one of the biggest European species with beautiful colour variations. Quite aggressive and full of character ants. When in danger, defend themselves with their strong mandibles and spray the enemy with acid. In nature, the colony reaches up to 10,000 workers. This species produces workers of very different sizes and colours with very impressive majors about the size of a queen. Colony might require patience in the initial stages, but develops very nicely and quite fast afterwards. The ants live in open forest areas and forest edges. The colony may stagnate during the winter months, then shallow hibernation may be needed (14-15 ° C).
